Daniel f. - my story

I stuck a key into an electrical outlet when I was about six years old at a summer camp in Arizona.  A camp counselor saw me gazing down at the key in the outlet, yelled frantically for me to stop and then proceeded to call me an idiot.  Several years later at a friend's house I saw another electrical outlet that did not have a cover on it.  I stuck my finger into it and felt a sharp pain run up my arm. It hurt so bad that I had to take a nap.  In my early twenties I unscrewed a light bulb out of a lamp at my parents house.  I stuck my finger into the light socket while the lamp was turned off then turned it on.  I jolted my hand back and let out a yell.  The relationship that I have with electricity is kind of like my relationship with drawing, writing and other creative endeavors. Hopefully I don't get struck by lightning one day.

Danny f.'s drawings are often drawn on the back of scrap paper which includes old resumes, bills and junk mail. His style incorporates science knowledge with reactions towards the world's things, living and non-living. His themes include inanimate objects that are animated, everyday people doing regular things, strange creatures, animals that have emotion, statements on culture and things that talk that shouldn't. He also enjoys the similarities in words and sounds and differences in meanings. He creates surreal images that are born out of observations of everyday things in the world. He sees the world through a lens of lightheartedness and humor. He has been drawing/writing casually for a long time
