A Slice of Manhattan

So I was hanging out near the Jersey Shore with my uncle-in-law. I told him all about how the south is exploding, things are changing! The south is the new happening spot! I told him that if you walk down Tryon in Uptown Charlotte it is like you are walking through a small slice of Manhattan that was cut and pasted into the South. He replied in a thick Jersey accent "No! No! Nothing compares to Manhattan!"
I disagree! As of 2020 there are about ten new sky scrapers being erected right now and about four others in the process of being planned. The area is bustling with cabs, car horns, people shouting and people walking to and fro. We have bars billowing out music and Halal food into the wee hours of the night. We even have people that come up to you with elaborate schemes to try to get your pocket change.
So many people from the northeast end up down in the greater Charlotte area too. It is common for them to buy an old house, tear it down, then build a new custom made house on the land. Many of them sell their homes up north and buy a bigger house down here with money left over to spare. As you drive down the road you see the golden orange New York licence plates everywhere. These people are taking over!
Pretty soon it will be New York number two. The Queen City will be the sister city to the Big Apple. People will drive faster. People will be rude. People will shout at you and tell you how it is, bluntly. But I am not sad. I know that these people have a lot to offer the area. They will stimulate the economy but the most important thing they will bring to the area will be something spectacular: tons of different types of gluten-free pizza!
